Another customer of the company's product who drove a Hillman Avenger he bought in 1974 also commented that Mid-Motors always gave "buyers the consolation of a reliable after sales service and spare parts, a standard which other motor vehicle dealers in the country were unable to beat".
Perhaps it is best to conclude the story of the pioneering effort of Mr. Igbinedion in the transport industry of Nigeria, with a relevant quotation on Mid-Motors Company from the passage of a newspaper of the time. In the Guide of 13th - 19th August 1973 a commentator noted that:
The success story of the Mid-Motor's Industry in Nigeria written many times over is not the success story of the Industry as such alone, but that of the Managing Director, Mr. G.O. Igbinedion who has spent nearly half a decade or more building up the vehicle industry from conception to command this multi-million naira enterprise and to dazzle and confound sceptics in the same industry, which if he had slipped he would have found that the stairway leading down from the position on top of the trade can nearly be as steep as the one that took him up to the pinnacle on which he now stands today.
If this was the assessment of Mr. Igbinedion in the business world of 1973, little wonder therefore that there is even a lot more to say of him today, two decades after, when his business has multiplied several times over.
