Chief Igbinedion Urges Kindness, Tolerance At Christmas
As the people of the world poise to celebrate get another Christmas, the Esama of
Benin, Sir, (Chief) Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion has urged Nigerians to imbibe the
virtues of humility, kindness, tolerance and praise to God Almighty.
The Esama in his goodwill message on the occasion of the Christmas celebration, said
the birth of Christ offered joy and eternal hope to humanity.
The Esama noted that the birth of Christ in a manger portrayed humility, adding that
Nigerians should learn to be humble, regardless of their positions in the society.
He also pointed out that the birth of Christ reconciled humanity to God after the
fall of man in the Garden of Eden.
Chief Igbinedion said Christmas should be celebrated by all in an atmosphere of joy,
peace and thanksgiving.
He congratulated the Benin Monarch and all the Palace Chiefs for the successful
celebration of this year’s annual Igue festival and wished all a prosperous New
Year.
